Bird Toys

It is important to provide your bird with a variety of toys to prevent boredom and behavioural issues such as shrieking, yelling, feather plucking and aggression.

Some examples of toys and activities that will prevent boredom:

  • foraging toys

  • destructible toys

  • puzzles

  • manipulative toys

  • learning toys

  • interactive games

  • trick teaching/training

  • new foods

  • talking to your bird

  • new environments

  • new people

  • new sounds and sights

Remember to rotate and change the toys often!

Items that you can use to make your own toys

  • paper

  • old books

  • packs of cards

  • cardboard boxes

  • toilet paper rolls

  • cardboard egg cartons

  • popsicle sticks

  • shoe laces

  • wooden spools

  • poker chips

  • shreddable Items

  • bells

  • chimes

  • spinning wheels

  • knots
