When our cats get older there are things that we can do to help them stay happy, healthy, and comfortable.

A senior cat is more likely to experience digestion issues, become clumsy as they lose agility skills, sleep more, and exercise less.

Here is list of some things you can do for your senior cat and below is a video with more details and ideas (you can also see my own senior cat, Tron!)

  • Feed nutritious food

  • Avoid highly processed foods

  • Avoid dry foods

  • Provide lots of clean water

  • Elevate food and water dishes/bowls

  • Provide entertainment and mental stimulation

  • Provide and encourage exercise

  • Ensure litter boxes are easily accessible

  • Provide lots of love, contact, and affection

  • Help your cat groom themselves

  • Provide warm beds

  • Give massages
