Reiki
Reiki is a healing technique that uses energy to activate the natural healing process and to restore physical and emotional well-being. Reiki can be used to boost the immune system, to reduce stress, to recover after illness or an operation, or during aging. This technique is done on humans as well as animals.
To become a Reiki healer, there are three levels of training to complete. I am a certified Reiki level 1 healer and have been using this healing technique on my animals. None of my animals have any illness or injury, but I have been using this technique for prevention of illness or injury by boosting the immune system and reducing stress.
I have found that Roxy has become a lot calmer. She usually runs to the door at every sound from outside and barks at the cats when they make any quick movements. When she did this, she would cause the cats and other animals to become stressed or anxious. She is still very attentive and notices all sounds and movments, but she doesn't jump up or bark, unless there is a 'serious threat'. Instead she looks in the direction of the sound or movement, determines if it is a serious barking matter, and acts accordently. This change has really calmed the whole house down and everyone appears to be calmer. Roxy is still a protective dog and a guard dog, that will never change because that is her personality, but I feel that she now has better control and judgement, which most likely will keep her stress levels down and ensure that she is happy and healthly!
When it comes to the cats, the Reiki treatment has appeared to cut down on their fights with each other and they are no longer fighting for attention from me. They also have been following me from room to room more than they did before.. I'm not sure what that means.
The Reiki has even been useful on the bird, Jelly Bean. Jelly Bean is a talkative bird and quickly learned how to say 'Jelly Bean' and 'up'. However, she hasn't learned any other words even though they have been spoken frequently to her. Since Reiki, Jelly Bean has been trying out new words and 'talking' instead of chirping. She hasn't been able to form any words clearly, hopefully that will come soon!
I am excited and looking forward to seeing what else Reiki can do! Has anyone else had any experience with Reiki on either themself or an animal?
